Walt Disney Co operates within the Television broadcasting stations sector.
In addition to historical fundamental analyses, the complete report available to purchase compares Disney with three other
radio and television broadcasters in North America:
Dish Network Corporation
sales of $15.49 billion
of which 83%
of which 50%
was Cable Networks), and
Charter Communications Inc
of which 79%
was Residential Revenue).
During the second
quarter of 2021, sales at Disney totalled
an increase of 44.5%
from the $11.78 billion in sales at the company during the second quarter of 2020.
This was the biggest same quarter rise in sales at Disney in the previous 35 quarters.
During the first two
quarters of 2021, sales totalled $32.64 billion, which is
than through the first two quarters of 2020.
There appears to be at least some degree of seasonality in the sales at Disney: during 8 of the previous 9
years, sales were highest during the fourth quarter.
The exception to this was during 2020, when the
first quarter was the best quarter, accounting for
30% of sales (during that same year, the
fourth quarter accounted for 27% of sales).
During the year ended September of 2020, sales at
Disney were $65.39 billion.
decrease of 6.0%
versus 2019, when the company's sales were $69.57 billion.
Contributing to the drop in overall sales was the 37.1% decline
in Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products, from $26.23 billion to $16.50 billion.
There were also decreases in sales in
Studio Entertainment (down 13.4% to $9.64 billion)
However, these declines were partially offset by the increase in sales of
Media Networks (up 14.4% to $28.39 billion)
Direct-To-Consumer and International (up 81.5% to $16.97 billion)
