The Company's subsidiary, U-Swirl International, Inc. (U-Swirl), franchises and operates soft-serve frozen yogurt stores. The Company operates through five segments: Franchising, Manufacturing, Retail Stores, U-Swirl operations and Other. The Company manufactures a range of chocolate candies and other confectionery products. The Company's franchised/license system of retail stores features chocolate, frozen yogurt and other confectionary products. The Company also sells its candy in selected locations outside of its system of retail stores and licenses the use of its brand with certain consumer products. The Company's products include a range of clusters, caramels, creams, mints and truffles. Its individual stores also offer over 15 fudges and other products prepared in the store. The Company uses chocolate, nut meats and other ingredients in its candies.

Sales Analysis. During the first calendar quarter of 2021, sales at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory totalled $8.22 million. This is practically unchanged from the previous year, and is only an increase of 1.2% from the $8.13 million in sales at the company during the first quarter of 2020. This was the largest same quarter increase in sales since the first calendar quarter of 2018. Sales at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory appear to have some seasonality: during each of the previous 5 calendar years, sales have been highest during the first quarter, which has accounted for between 27.3% and 37.2% of the annual calendar year sales. Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory reported sales of $23.48 million for the fiscal year ending February of 2021. This represents a sharp decrease of 26.3% versus 2020, when the company's sales were $31.85 million. Contributing to the drop in overall sales was the 53.6% decline in U-Swirl, Inc, from $3.70 million to $1.72 million. There were also decreases in sales in Manufacturing (down 19.5% to $17.32 million) and Franchising (down 35.9% to $3.55 million) and Retail (down 18.8% to $896,793.00 ) .
